Performances

GBAD offers numerous exciting and enriching performance opportunities throughout the year such as our annual production of "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker", a story ballet spring show, our annual school wide culmination performance along with at least one summer performance opportunity. Participants in "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker" and our annual story ballet spring show are based on an open to the public audition basis. GBAD's annual school wide culmination performance is open to the entire GBAD student community, for which participation is encouraged, however not mandatory. GBAD presents well-known and original works by innovative choreographers and a varied repertoire including classical ballet, contemporary and modern works.

Involvement in the performing arts and specifically GBAD performances can be the highlight of a dancer's training. Development in preparation, added training & rehersals, relationship development, creativity and precision are all experiences that performing students can expect from involvement in GBAD performances.

Being involved in GBAD performances requires a added level of commitment, time and financial for rehearsals.

For the 2010 / 2011 School Year, GBAD participants were offered opportunities to participate in "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker", "Snow White", Culmination 2011 as well as Stratham Hill Fair and Prescott Park.
