Welcome to GBAD

What we're all about

Great Bay Academy of Dance (GBAD) is the Seacoast's Non-Competition Dance Education Center for dancers of all ages. This means that we are focused on dance as an art form and as an education. Being a non-competition dance education center means that 100% of the time spent at GBAD is focused on learning and improving dance fundamentals and technique along with having fun.

GBAD's strength is in the Vaganova technique of classical ballet. We believe that ballet is the foundation of all dance movements. Our staff is the best in the area with each of our instructors having professional experience and/or a college degree in a dance related field. Learn more >

Performances

GBAD offers numerous exciting and enriching performance opportunities throughout the year such as our annual production of "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker", a story ballet spring show, our annual school wide culmination performance along with at least one summer performance opportunity.

Participants in "An 1836 Portsmouth Nutcracker" and our annual story ballet spring show are based on an open to the public audition basis. GBAD's annual school wide culmination performance is open to the entire GBAD student community, for which participation is encouraged, however not mandatory. Learn More >

Great Bay Academy of Dance's newly renovated 4500 SF handicap accessible facility is conveniently located close to downtown Portsmouth, NH. GBAD studios can be rented for a variety of uses including special events, parties, business meetings, exhibitions, artistic or athletic uses. Learn More >
